It was a tired but happy group of Pitsea Running Club runners who completed the Pleshey Half Marathon on Sunday. The late (ish) start time of 10.30am and the fact that Pleshey is only about half an hour from home meant we had all been feeling pretty chilled at the start. But the addition of unexpectedly hot and humid weather to the somewhat undulating route made for a very hard run.
Thank goodness for the encouraging marshals and the much needed water stations along the way which kept us all going.
Special mention goes to to Cheryl Macdonald who won the bronze medal for her age category in the Essex Half Marathon championships and David Davidson who knocked over five minutes off his previous best half marathon time.
