After what seemed like the longest break ever, cross-country racing made a triumphant return on Saturday 25th September with two full Pitsea teams smashing it at the first Essex League race of the season at Hockley. It was a great start with our mens team placing 2nd and our ladies team placing 5th in our division.
A week later and it was time for one of our favourite cross-country races, the Cross-Country Relay, which this year was held at Weald Park on Saturday 2nd October. We had a fabulous turn out,, with 5 Pitsea Running Club teams braving rain, wind, mud, hills and more and smashing it. I think the following quotes sum up the day:-
"Well what can I say , well done everyone for turning out in such atrocious weather and thank you to those who stepped in last minute so we had full teams. Everyone put everything into it and we still had smiling faces regardless of the weather it makes it all worthwhile xx"
Val Sinclair
"So proud of everyone who took part in xc today the weather was awful but the BLACK AND WHITE ARMY came out in Force and ran their hearts out everyone encouraging each other the BLACK AND WHITE love was in the air thanks so much to Valerie Sinclair for all your hard work"
Michael Gould
