Additional details
Entry is free to Pitsea Running Club members.
The standard race start times are 12pm for Senior Women and 12:45pm for Senior Men and the race distances are usually 5k for women and 8k for men.
Clubs can enter as many runners as they wish in each race, the first four women and the first six men score points but even if you don't score for the club you can accumulate points as an individual in your age category and as long as you complete four out of the five races your points will count. Awards are given for the first three in each age category at the end of the season. Second claim members may take part as guests but are not able to score for the club.
SOUTH ESSEX CROSS COUNTRY
SUNDAY LEAGUE
When
The South Essex Cross-Country League season runs from October to March and consists of five fixtures run on Sundays in various locations in South Essex. Details of this season’s fixtures can be found on our events page.
Additional details
Entry fee is £5 per person
Races start at 10am. The men’s and ladies teams run together and the race distance is usually 4 - 5 miles.
The first six men and four women in score for the team although two of the men and one of the women have to be veterans. But we still need as many club members to take part as possible as this reduces the points scored by the teams from other clubs.
Pitsea Running Club also organises the January fixture, held at One Tree Hill. This couldn't happen without club members volunteering to help.
CHAMPIONSHIP CROSS COUNTRY RACES
As well as the Essex and South Essex league races we also take part in several Championship races that take place during the Cross-Country Season

The Championship races run between September and February run on Saturdays in various locations in Essex and beyond. Details of this season’s fixtures can be found on our events page.
